London International Dive Show

Yesterday I made my annual pilgrimage to LIDS, the London International Dive Show at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre in Docklands. I only go for the presentations which are always great, and mostly by internationally known speakers.

Charlotte Caffrey of Aqua-Firma gave a fascinating account “Diving Beyond the Arctic & Antarctic Polar Circles”. Made me dream of making these expensive trips!

Alex Mustard, the well known underwater photographer, gave an informative presentation on “How to win photo contests”, a subject he is expert in having won so many awards.

Ingrid Kvale, BBC Wildlife film producer, gave a great talk about making “Diving with Crocodiles” with presenter Ben Fogle and underwater photographer Mike Pitts.

Paul Rose gave an account of his life “Defined by Diving” as a professional diver, Antarctic base commander and TV presenter.

Monty Halls gave his usual fabulously amusing and passionate talk to a packed out hall (floor space only), this time covering the BBC series “Great Barrier Reef” and “The Apprentice Fisherman”.
