long distance badger on the home straight |
Today SusSAR (Sussex Search and Rescue) assisted with the Brighton Marathon again. We manned two pedestrian crossing points on the sea front. The Marathon started at 9am and the elite runner 21 year old Peter Some from Kenya finished 2 hours 12.01 minutes later in his 4th marathon. Participants of all ages and fitness levels bravely finished the gruelling course on this very windy day.
SusSAR had two runners raising money for us. We are a charity relying on donations to allow us to operate. We are professionally trained volunteers who search for vulnerable missing people and are on call 24/7 - please see our website: http://www.sussar.org/ We work mainly in Sussex but also assist the SARs in surrounding counties and further afield if needed.
