Kingfishers, reflections and murmurations

Pintail, Anas acuta
On Saturday Arundel WWT started their Discover Birds weekend. I attended talks and walks by Dave Fairlamb and Paul Stevens and picked up some photo tips and bird info. There were plenty of exhibitors, including artist in residence Desiree Hart, and the bird carvers.

On Sunday morning I attended a club dig in a difficult stubble field which didn’t yield much. Afterwards I visited Arundel WWT again and saw a Kingfisher catch a fish opposite the Scrape hide. It flew to the bush in the lake and proceeded to bash it repeatedly on a branch before finally swallowing it. Sunset  reflections are getting more interesting with the starling murmuration.

Arundel WWT included a 10 second Kingfisher clip of mine in 'Wildlife Weekly Arundel - Episode 9' (starts at 34 seconds in).
