Water Rail and Snipe

Water Rail, Rallus aquaticus
I spend a lot of time at Arundel Wildlife and Wetland Trust and enjoy the variety of wildlife there. These photos are from 17th and 19th December. A Kingfisher entertained us from the viewing centre with its fishing antics. Two Snipe and a Water Rail were close to the Sand Martin hide one day and on another day a Grey Wagtail strutted his stuff. Canada Geese frequently flew in during the afternoon and Shelducks were keen to see off rivals for the affections of their partner. Swans, a Little Grebe, Tufted Ducks, Teal, Mallard and Cormorants usually showed up, plus some Gadwall on one day.
