Snow Bunting at Goring

Snow Bunting, Plectrophenax nivalis
On Sunday morning I visited Goring and had the Snow Bunting to myself for an hour. It fed on grass, seed heads of yellow flowers that look like Hawk’s-beard and rooted among the grass by the path near the fish hut. It approached within a metre of me and only flew off when dogs bounded towards it. There were several Great Black-backed Gulls on the beach.
