The Border Birder and a Red Kite

Red Kite, Milvus milvus
On Tuesday afternoon Dougal arrived from the borderland. It was good to see him after so many years. He was responsible for the security dogs in Aramcoland and Shadow the Golden Retriever loved to see him when he visited our house. He has a way with animals and shares my love of wildlife, otters being his special passion. On Wednesday after noon I took him to Warningcamp and Arundel WWT. At Warningcamp the Border Birder spotted a Red Kite wheeling above us, a Yellow Hammer, a Wren, A Green Woodpecker and then the Glossy Ibis. We shared the sighting with a birder from Eastbourne who had travelled on a three-wheeled scooter to see it – he said it made his day!
