Moths exhibit, a Peregrine feeds and Snipe show

Common Snipe, Gallinago gallinago
On Saturday I visited Storrington Museum where moth expert Bob Palmer gave a talk to launch his exhibition of moths and butterflies entitled "Flutter-Bys and Fly-By-Nights". This will last for two months. Butterfly Conservation Sussex, had a stall and excellent display of butterfly photographs and information by Neil Hulme.

Afterwards I visited nearby Pulborough Brooks RSPB reserve. Swallows, Sand and House Martins were flying over the brooks. At Nettley’s hide I saw 2 Snipe and a Peregrine Falcon tore apart a large bird in the distance. A Little Egret caught a fish to complete a satisfying walk in the rain.
