Gulls and ducklings

Black-headed Gulls, Chroicocephalus ridibundus
On Friday I called into Arundel WWT where I found more ducklings and witnessed some aggressive Black-headed Gull behaviour at the Sand Martin hide.

This gull was king of the pole for some time, then another gull decided to dispute ownership.

This gull flew back and forth with this plant material. Was this an offering to a female to impress her with his suitability for marital bliss.
Greylag Goose, Anser anser
Mallard, Anas platyrhynchos

They passed by in front of the hide and a drake waddled by. The duck told him very loudly that he should carry on walking by and not come near her ducklings.
