Arundel ducklings

Mallard, Anas platyrhynchos, chick
Yesterday afternoon blue sky lured me to Arundel. The mill pond by Swanbourne Lake had the pair of Mandarin Ducks still in residence but the stars of the day were four families of Mallards that I found in Arundel WWT. They had 5,6,8 and 10 ducklings.
Mandarin Duck, Aix galericulata on the Mill Pond
Chaffinch, Fringilla coelebs, female
Greylag Goose, Anser anser
Bewick's Swan, Cygnus columbianus
Lapwing (Peewit), Vanellus vanellus
Mallard, Anas platyrhynchos
Now that many of the ducks are looking after their young, the drakes have formed gangs of up to nine individuals.

Moorhen, Gallinula chloropus
Orinoco Geese, Neochen jubata
The Orinoco Geese are the new birds in town:

Lesser White-fronted Goose, Anser erythropus
