Short-eared Owls and Red Kites

Short-eared Owl, Asio flammeus
Yesterday morning we shopped in Chichester and had lunch in the excellent Pallant Gallery restaurant. The exhibition "Conscience and Conflict: BritishArtists and the Spanish Civil War" was interesting with some powerful imagery by well known artists and others such as Clive Branson.

After returning home I  set off to The Burgh in view of the great light. I saw my first Short-eared Owl at 3:13 by the farm. Others appeared from 3:45, together with a pair of Red Kites. I saw a Corn Bunting and a flock of Yellowhammers in the hedgerow. A wonderful sunset completed a satisfying afternoon’s walk.
