Bearded Tits at Pagham Harbour

male Bearded Tit, Panurus biarmicus
This morning I met Nigel at Arundel for a Water Vole hunt. We saw one at Arundel WWT during the boat ride and two more at Mill Road as daylight faded. The highlight of the day was a visit to Pagham Harbour to see the Bearded Tits. There were two males and a female showing very well in excellent afternoon light in front of the reeds by the Ferry Long Pool. They are also known as Bearded Reedling and is related to no other songbirds, including the Tits.
