Barn Owls, Canada Geese, Coot and Ratty

Canada Goose, Branta canadensis
On Tuesday I saw a couple of Barn Owls at Waltham Brooks, but none came near the road. I then found the three Bearded Tits at Pagham Harbour but they were too far away to photograph. On Wednesday I joined Mark, Neil, Roger and Murray downland Trust members at Heyshott Down for more clearance work to benefit the critically endangered  Duke of Burgundy butterfly. It was a misty morning and I stopped at Waltham Brooks on the way and saw one Barn Owl hunting. On the way home I visited Waltham Brooks again where I saw a female Stonechat during a walk along the River Arun. I also called in at Arundel WWT and saw pair of Coots mating, one of which caught a fish. Just as the light was dimming I found the juvenile Water Vole by Mill Road.
