Barn Owl, Tyto alba 180mm, F3.5, 1/250, ISO 450 |
On Tuesday I failed to find a Water Vole at Arundel where the path was flooded by Mill Road. Yesterday I attended the Heyshott work party where the downland clearing work is progressing very well for the Duke of Burgundy butterfly. On the way home I called in at Waltham Brooks and was rewarded by excellent sightings of two Barn Owls quartering the fields and a Kestrel. I witnessed the owls dropping on prey several times. Unfortunately light conditions were poor - cloud cover, 3:30pm.
