Speckled Woods

Speckled Wood, Pararge aegeria
Three hours at Steyning from 12 to 3 yielded some Speckled Woods, but in spite of sun bursts, the wind must have discouraged the Brown Hairstreaks from coming down from the perches in the ash trees. I heard some squeals then saw a fox dashing up the hill.
Bronze Shieldbug nymphs, final instar, Troilus luridus
Buff-tailed bumblebee, Bombus terrestris
Common lizard, Zootoca vivipara
Field Bindweed, Convolvulus arvensis
