Southwater butterflies

This morning I decided to visit Southwater Woods again just in case his Imperial Majesty made an appearance. However, no Purple Emperor today. Instead there was a good variety of butterflies in various parts of the woods. On the path east of the road I found some White Admirals. One was taking salts from the path. He flew in circles a few times, then landed on my leather boot and imbibed salts from that!

These 2 photos of the same butterfly in the same position were shot with 2 different cameras - above a Nikon D90 SLR, below a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 . Note the colour differences between the SLR and the bridge camera..
