Large Silver Rings with cricket

male Silver-washed Fritillary, Argynnis paphia
Yesterday evening we relaxed on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoyed the pastel sunset.

Some large insects swarmed around the fir tree, a few drifted our way and looked like cockchafers:
This afternoon I ventured out for an hour when the rain stopped and visited a local wood where I was rewarded by a newly emerged male Silver-washed Fritillary, a Ringlet and a Large Skipper. I ignored the Marbled White but was pleased to see this cricket.
