Dark Green and Tortoiseshell

Small Tortoiseshell, Aglais urticae
Yesterday I visited to Kithurst Hill and once again it produced some surprises - a Dark Green Fritillary, a fresh Small Tortoiseshell and a the first of the second brood of Small Blues.  Thanks to the other butterfly people who spotted the latter two. The Chalkhills covered the bank and the upper meadow as usual.
