Ringlets and a Red Admiral

Ringlet, Aphantopus hyperantus
Yesterday I attended a club dig at a new site, but it wasn’t productive, I found just a tombac button. I then completed my weekly butterfly transect at Mill Hill and recorded just 8 Small Heaths, a Red Admiral and a Meadow Brown. In need of butterfly therapy I headed to Southwater Woods again and found some pristine butterflies, including Ringlets, Red Admirals, Commas, Silver-washed Fritillaries, Large Skippers & White Admirals. In the meadow there were Marble Whites and Meadow Browns. I met a few other butterfly enthusiasts including Neil and Richard.
