Clouded Yellows, Adonis Blues and moths

Clouded Yellow, Colias croceus
I have noticed some interesting moths outside the flat recently: Brown House Moth, Light Brown Apple Moth, Rusty Dot Pearl, Elbow-stripe Grass-veneer, Rusty Dot Pearl, Marbled Green, Common Plume.
On 21st August I joined 3 other SusSAR members at Arundel to marshal the road closures closing off the town centre for the start of the Arundel Festival. Marshalling events is one way we raise funds to enable Sussex Search  & Rescue to operate. We are a self funding charity run 100% by about 50 volunteers who give up their time to turn up 24/7 when Sussex Police call us out to search for missing, vulnerable people in the county.
On Sunday I joined our detecting club on a dig and found a broken James I sixpence which is a very worn hammered silver coin plus a copper finger ring.
My Mill Hill transect on Monday provided some pleasant surprises: Adonis Blue 27, Chalk Hill Blue 5, Clouded Yellow 2, Common Blue 8, Gatekeeper, Holly Blue, Meadow Brown 73, Small Heath 16, Whites 3, moths: Common Carpet, Common Grass-veneer, Silver Y, Common Purple and Gold, Treble-bar, Yellow Shell. The Clouded Yellows had a brief battle at one point. I also found a White which looked unusual - it didn't appear to have a black mark on the corner of the forewing. After looking closely and taking photos I believe this may be a Small White referable to ab. maculata. The problem is that it is very worn - a spot on the forewing has lost many of its black scales.
