a smorgasbord of moths

Small Dusty Wave, Idaea seriata
Yesterday I upgraded the light bulb on our balcony from 60 to 100 Watt equivalent and the moths flocked in. I recorded 7 new species among the 17 seen around various lights:  Black-headed Conch, Brimstone Moth, Marbled Beauty, The Nutmeg, Brown House Moth, Cabbage Moth, Common Plume, Common Wainscot, Dark Spectacle, Flounced Rustic, Light Brown Apple Moth, Rosy Minor, Rush Veneer, Rusty Dot Pearl, Shuttle-Shaped Dart, Silver Y, Yellow-backed Clothes. This afternoon a Small Dusty Wave landed on the outside door.
