On Saturday I met Mark for more orchid photography and we
then spent time at Iping common by the car park looking for the nationally
rare click beetle I found on Wednesday, Ampedus
sanguinolentus. No success with that, but we did see of other
insects, including a Golden-ringed Dragonfly and a Broad-bodied Chaser. Mark
found a cluster of Garden Spider spiderlings on a leaf. When disturbed they
disbursed, then slowly reformed the cluster. Yellow-barred Longhorn moths
fluttered round a birch and settled on various leaves. Lizards posed on the
fencing and leaves.
