On Sunday and Monday I spent time at a West Sussex meadow
trying various camera and lens options while my Sigma macro is away. My targets
were the 5 orchid species present on the site: Pyramidal,
Common Spotted, Southern Marsh, Bee and Frog Orchids. There were plenty of Lepidoptera
species: Marbled White, Dark Green Fritillary, Meadow Brown, Small Heath, Common
Blue, Brown Plume, Cinerous Pearl, Satin Grass-veneer, Five-Spot Burnet and
Yellow Shell. I also found male and female Black-striped Longhorn Beetles on
Oxeye Daisies and a Dusky Cockroach.
