Red Admiral, Vanessa atalanta |
We have attended two excellent conferences recently.
Firstly, the Sussex Ornithological Society’s conference was held at Haywards Heath on
January 31st. Then on February 7th
the Sussex Biological Recorders Seminar was held at Hassocks. Both had great
speakers on a variety of interesting subjects and we thoroughly enjoyed them.
I saw my first butterfly of the year, a Red Admiral which
landed on bracken by the roadside.
On Thursday I joined Murray Downland Trust
members John, Mike and Andy at Heyshott escarpment for another conservation work
party.
The rain kept me indoors on Wednesday and today ☹
