Speckled Woods and a Red Admiral

Red Admiral, Vanessa atalanta on Cow Parsley
On Friday I wandered through Lobb’s Wood where in the past I have found Speckled Woods and Red Admirals. Cow Parsley fills the wood. I spotted my first Speckly but noted he had large chunks out of his wings. A second one turned up in good condition. They both puddled on the mud path. I was about to leave when his Lordship the Red Admiral sailed in and landed in front of me and proceeded to nectar on the Cow Parsley in the glade.
