Skylarks, Burnets and Blues at Cissbury

Speckled Yellow, Pseudopanthera macularia
Yesterday evening I walked round Cissbury Ring and disturbed a pair of Skylarks which then sang beautifully above me. A Crow surveyed his domain from a tree stump and allowed me to walk very close.  I found 3 Common Blues roosting and saw dozens of Burnet moth pupae on the grass stems, plus a larva about to pupate. A Red Admiral shot past me going west to east, several Speckled Yellow moths fluttered around and a Kestrel flew by.
