Yesterday afternoon Mark phoned with the news that Silver-studded Blues were finally showing at Stedham Common. I disappeared out of
the door PDQ and at 4pm was happily walking towards the heathland. There were
plenty of Common Heath, Treble-bar and Grass Wave moths plus large yellow ones later
identified as Clouded Buffs. I tried to avoid breaking the spider webs in the heather. After nearly two hours of searching
under a cloudy sky in diminishing light I finally located a Silver-studded Blue
fluttering near the path.

Beautiful Pictures and blog, a pleasure to view! I think your Common Heath is in fact a 'Grass Wave' (Perconia strigillaria).
