After our morning swim we set off to Eastbourne for our last visit before Bea moves to Romiley. We took her to the Golden Galleon by The Seven Sisters National Park, then And for the first time walked on the east side of the Cuckmere Haven to the beach. Here we found find heavy rusty-looking spherical lumps which are the iron sulphide mineral pyrite or marcasite. When broken they reveal golden crystals which oxidise and tarnish to become fools' gold. Watch this space!
