Akimbo at Chichester Marina

Black Swan, Cygnus atratus
Yesterday afternoon we arrived at Chichester Marina to visit Sheryl and Ian, friends from Saudi. They are holidaying on their beautiful yacht Akimbo, soon to be renamed Faraway. It is the height of sailing luxury with two double en suite cabins and a huge lounge. After tea and scones we walked around the marina, which is very picturesque, then had sundowners and pizza. The Australian cabernet that we brought went down well with Sheryl whose roots are firmly in Oz. A great evening with lovely people, life doesn’t get better than this.

  2. Hi Colin - excellent photos. Love that swan shot but haven't been able to get a photo anywhere near as good! Have Ian's mum and sister here at the moment and they have read your blog. We went out for a sail yesterday and the weather was lovely. Today it's cold and windy with worse predicted. We managed to rename Akimbo 'Faraway' yesterday and sacrificed a bottle of Moet all over the bow but it was worth it. We are off to the boat show tomorrow. It was great to catch up with you.
