Lime & Small Elephant Hawk Moths

Lime Hawk-moth, Mimas tiliae
Hawk moths have featured a lot during the past couple of weeks on the balcony. Sometimes they dive into the moth trap and sometimes settle on the wall by the balcony light. This selection arrived during the period 6 to 12 June. The commonest moth by far continues to be the Heart and Dart with a maximum of 26 on one night recently. Next is the Shuttle-shaped Dart.
