Last night in Colleyville, Texas, an old friend passed away peacefully at home with family following a long battle with lung cancer.
I remember the first time I met Mary on a Red Sea dive trip in the 1980s when we lived in Saudi Arabia. From that day on she was a true friend. I practically lived at Chuck & Mary’s house when were all teaching diving together. I went on her dive trips to exotic and memorable places: Seychelles, Jordan, various Arabian countries, and Yanbu, one of our favourite destinations. The Alexander’s Thanksgiving celebrations were legendary. After Friday morning dive lessons at the beach we would gather at their house for water volleyball and sundowners. It was a wonderful existence and Mary and Chuck were the ultimate hospitality team. They were an important part of our lives for many years and we have often talked about those times. Mary will always have a place in our hearts and our thoughts are with Chuck, Karen, Joy and all their family.
