Houghton Forest

Hoverfly ♀, Xanthogramma pedissequum
I often visit Houghton Forest as a local walk for an hour or so. There is plenty to see along the herbaceous borders - the nettles and Hemp Agrimony are especially rich in insects. These photos are from July and August.
