Dartford Warblers & Goldcrests

Dartford Warbler, Sylvia undata
On Friday afternoon I visited The Burgh near Burpham where I saw a Red Kite, a Buzzard, a Kestrel, a Stonechat, a flock of at least 13 Corn Buntings and two Brown Hares. Three Short-eared Owls sat in their usual field near the dew pond. When a tractor passed near them they stayed on the ground until they were forced to fly, then they landed nearby. The wind was strong at times.

On Sunday clear skies encouraged me to visit Iping Common again. I saw two Dartford Warblers displaying near a tumulus. A flock of Goldcrests twittered in the gorse and a Reed Bunting appeared briefly.
