Tree Damsel Bug and Black Willow Aphids

male Large Skipper, Ochlodes sylvanus
Following the excitement of the Swallowtail discovery at Steyning Rifle Range last Thursday, I saw my first a Large Skipper and a Slow-worm at the site. I then visited Woods Mill and found Leaf beetles, Small Tortoishell larvae, a Tree Damsel Bug, Red-and-black Froghopper, two more caddis-like Common Sweep larvae and a herd of Black Willow Aphids being tended by ants.
