Bullfinches and a Fieldfare

male and female Bullfinches, Pyrrhula pyrrhula
On Monday morning the Sussex Search & Rescue team were called out to assist with the search for missing pensioner Richard Wise at Seaford. Conditions were appalling in the morning and we continued until dusk.
Yesterday I met Mark at Pulborough Brooks and we shook off some cobwebs by trekking round as many hides as were open. Nettley’s provided Bullfinches and a Fieldfare all spotted by my eagle-eyed companion. The light and the torrential rain which poured down while we were in the hide did not contribute to quality photos!  Afterwards a bowl of their excellent soup finished off an enjoyable morning.
