Robin and Lucienne Day at the Pallant Gallery

This morning we took Bea to the Pallant Gallery at Chichester. After an excellent lunch at the gallery restaurant we visited the Robin and Lucienne Day exhibition. They were the influential post war designers of furniture and fabrics. The Olive Calyx design above was one of Lucienne's best known. The polyprop stackable chair was probably Robin Day's best known product, though some of us have suffered from sitting on these for too long at one time! I liked his Tote Table and Tricorn Tray. Lucienne Day's fabric designs of the 50s were very evocative.
We also came across a wonderful video about a Wooden Boulder created by sculptor David Nash, and the boulder's 25 year journey from a stream to the sea.
