Photo workshop

Small Heath
On Saturday I attended a UK Butterfly photo workshop near Winchester. This is the third of these annual events that I have attended, always enjoyable and always pick up tips. We had a practical session at Magdalen Hill Down, a Butterfly Conservation Reserve which has been in existence since 1995 and is a haven for Brown Argus, Green Hairstreaks, Orange Tips, Common Blues & Speckled Wood.
Topics covered were: Thoughts on butterfly photography, Basic concepts and equipment, Field Craft and Technique, Introduction to Magdalen Hill Down, Guest speaker Chris Manley, Digital photo processing.
Each speaker gave a very professional view of his subject. A well organised event as usual with proceeds benefiting Butterfly Conservation.
