Admirals fight in Lobbs Wood
A visit to the clearing in Lobbs Wood found three Red Admirals battling. Mostly there were two fighting and circling around, eventually reaching the tree tops, then a third joined in. The victor and owner of the glade scudded around the tops of the cow parsley doing his victory dance and never landing for more than a few seconds. I managed to catch it nectaring few times. A Speckled Wood was seen off by the dominant Admiral. before
