A day at the British Wildlife Centre

Red Squirrel, Sciurus vulgaris
On September 6th I met Nigel Symington at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey. This zoo has a wonderful collection of British mammals, birds and other creatures. We started  by walking through the Red Squirrel enclosure and followed the half hourly feeding events through the day. Knowledgeable keepers give a talk about the mammal then feed them. At the end of the day they flew five owls in an arena. We stayed all day and I took so many photos that I have only just finished editing them. I shall return!
