I take too many photos! I filled up my 2 Terrabyte Verbatim RAID drive recently. The rest of the story is posted below. After resolving this problem we visited Kithurst Hill where Neil and Sherie had raved about the Chalkhill Blues and Marbled Whites. They were right! We got there at 5:15 and MBs were fluttering everywhere, plus a few CBs. The Chalkhill Blues soon roosted and one even opened its wings when the sun briefly appeared.
The rest of the story:
My Verbatim drive has One Terrabyte (1000 gigabytes) backed up automatically on the 2nd Terrabyte for safety. This includes 650GB photos, so I ordered a 6T Westinghouse RAID drive (model: My Book Studio Edition II) which arrived yesterday afternoon. (delivery info said 'be in 7:30-5:30' So it arrived at 5:40 -grrr) This morning I opened the package, thinking it would be as easy as the Verbatim drive to set up. WRONG! The supplied CD setup.exe would not install on my Windows 7 pc. The literature from the CD indicated the setup software supported Win 7, but not on my pc! Hours later I finally resolved the problem by manually updating all the drivers I could find associated with the beast. Then I was able to reformat the drives for Windows. The beast comes setup for Mac and Windows customers have to jump through hoops to get it working! End of moan... Apart from that it is a very neat piece of kit and a light is currently bouncing around on the front as I transfer 400GB from the Verbatim drive. It will take the rest of the night to copy the rest, hope it doesn't overheat…
