Town and Country

This evening we ventured a few hundred yards from home and wandered through the delightful woodland glade in the centre of town.
Then we decided to head for Burpham for a pint and G+T. This was  one of Mum’s favourite drives when we used to take her to the George and Dragon for lunch when on holiday from Saudi.
Philip will perhaps remember the cricket pitch by the village hall.
A wander around St. Mary’s church produced a strange coincidence.
There are Hays buried in the graveyard, and a Hay memorial sign by the path.
As we left the path Sue spotted this Knight memorial stone by the horse trough. Mum would have appreciated the coincidence of the family names.
