25 August (Littlehampton) my prize last night was a Buff Ermine larva creeping along underneath the balcony door. It was moving away from a large tub of geraniums which show considerable leaf damage. We get plenty of Buff Ermine by the exterior light and in the trap. Geranium is not listed anywhere as a known food plant. I hope to find the pupa later.
9 moth species: Common Wainscot, Delicate, Flounced Rustic 14, Marbled Beauty, Olive-tree Pearl 2, Pale Mottled Willow, Setaceous Hebrew Character, Shuttle-shaped Dart, Vine's Rustic 4.
