Whiteways and Kithurst Hill

male Brimstone, Gonepteryx rhamni
On Tuesday I checked out Whiteways car park and adjacent meadows as a Swallowtail had been reported there the previous day. I found a wonderful meadow where Hemp Agrimony was covered in nectaring butterflies and at least two Clouded Yellows had aerial battles every time their paths crossed. Plenty of Brimstones gave me the opportunity to obtain more in-flight shots. A visit to Kithurst Hill provided more Clouded Yellows.
