Snowy Waxwings

Bohemian Waxwing, Bombycilla garrulus
5am: no sign of snow, 7:30am: 4 inches on Sue's car. This prompted me to head for Sainsburys at Rustington to find the waxwings. I caught up with them at 9am by the roundabout on Station Road and enjoyed an hour with six birds who fed ten feet away from me. They came down to the berries two at a time and no other birders were around - wonderful! After lunch I returned with Mark and we found twelve birds feeding although it was raining too heavily for photos.
