Fallow deer at Heyshott

Fallow deer
I joined BC members Mark, James, Tom and Carol at Heyshott for more conservation work. I took my 300mm lens in case we saw the fallow deer again and was able to grab some shots of a herd of five galloping around a field. All my photos showed the deer in the exactly the same phase of their gallop as the other members of the herd. We wondered if this synchronised running is an adaptation to reduce the chance of being selected by a predator during a hunt.
