Kithurst Hill, gliders and fliers

We decided on a gentle walk this afternoon and settled on Kithurst Hill, a favourite butterfly haven later in the year. Sue pointed out a gorse bush in flower beside the path.

The South Downs Way passes the car park and there are excellent views over the Downs
A plane towed a glider into the heavens while we were there. Several peacock butterflies and bumble bees did their own arial acrobatics.
Two hen pheasants were spotted as well as some cocks.
Sweet violets were peeking through the grass of the butterfly meadow and cowslips were ready to open.
