Binsted Woods & a Red-belted Bracket

A walk in Binsted Woods on Sunday morning gave me the opportunity to look for fungi. Sadly I didn't find many! The Red-belted Bracket that was so colourful a few years ago is still attached to a silver birch, but the tree has fallen - the cycle of life.

Candlesnuff Fungus, Xylaria hypoxylon

Grey Squirrel, Sciurus carolinensis

Holly, Ilex aquifolium

Inkcap, Coprinus species

King Alfred's Cake, Daldinia concentrica

Red-belted Bracket, Fomitopsis pinicola
