Kithurst moths and River Arun swim

River Arun 3.8km swim
Late afternoon on June 17th I visited Kithurst Meadow and saw Meadow Browns and several moths: Common Yellow Conch, Dark Strawberry Tortrix, Diamond-back Moth, Grass Rivulet, Plum Tortrix, Red-fringed Conch, Satin Grass-veneer.
Yesterday I was a marshall at the River Arun 3.8km swim. Marshalling sports events is one way that Sussex Search & Rescue raises funds to operate our service for missing vulnerable people. We met at the RNLI station at Littlehampton, were bussed to Ford where the participants entered the river. We then followed them on the bank with throw-lines and whistles in case we needed to attract the attention of the marshalls who were on the water in kayaks and canoes. The race ended back at the RNLI station.
