Hummingbird Hawk-moth and flying ants

Hummingbird Hawk-moth, Macroglossum stellatarum

On Sunday I attended a metal detecting dig and found a Georgian penny, 1806 halfpenny, some buttons and musket balls. We disturbed  a pair of Roe Deer when we walked into the area and they raced across the field. I then checked out Fairmile Bottom and Houghton Forest where I found a Hummingbird Hawkmoth.
In the evening I took Sue to Fairmile Bottom and found plenty of micromoths and Sue found a colony of flying ants leaving their nest.
