Iping Common was at its best today, though the wind was
strong and cold at times. A Kestrel soared over the valley and returned to
the same area many times. It dived and captured a lizard. I saw a Great Grey
Shrike twice in its usual valley and rescued a micromoth from a puddle. I later
identified it as a Gorse Flat-body whose food plant is Gorse – plenty of that
around.
